Peanut Butter Pie

A cool creamy treat in this peanut butter pie is just the thing to end a special meal!

Let’s face it! Most of us love that combination of peanut butter and chocolate. I mean, what’s not to love? It’s delicious and they just pair so well together! If you’re like me, that means you’re going to love this pie! The peanut butter flavor definitely comes through. Then when you add that little hint of chocolate on top of the pie, it’s just perfection!

How long does this take to make?

Other than the amazing flavor, that’s really the best part about this pie! You can throw it together in about 5 minutes! It takes about a minute to put the filling ingredients in your mixer. Then while you let your mixer take care of that, you can chop or grate your chocolate. So in the time your filling is mixed, you are completely ready to put it in the pie and top it with your chocolate. That takes about a minute. Honestly, if you need a quick, go-to dessert at the last minute, this one’s perfect! Quick, easy and delicious!

Can I use a different pie crust?

Yes, you can use whatever you like! I especially like it with a chocolate cookie crust. Oreo used to make one that was just perfect for this pie and brought out that extra chocolate flavor. It’s been a little bit hard to find in recent years, though! You could absolutely make your own chocolate crust if you like, or make your own graham cracker crust. It just depends on how much time you want it to take! For me, part of the beauty of this pie is how quick and easy it is, so I prefer to have the ready-made crust just to simplify things.

Can I freeze this pie?

You sure could! In fact, for those hot summer days, sometimes I prefer to have this pie frozen instead of simply chilled in the fridge! You can’t go wrong either way, though. With a sharp knife, you can still slice it up straight from the freezer.

Peanut Butter Pie

A cool creamy dessert that's a perfect treat for a hot summer day (or any day)! If you love peanut butter, then this is the pie for you. Paired with a touch of chocolate shavings on top, you get that perfect peanut butter/chocolate combo we all love!

Ingredients

  • 1 graham cracker crust
  • 3 oz cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (or more if you really love peanut butter)!
  • 1 large carton of Cool Whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 chocolate bar

Instructions

  • Place cream cheese, peanut butter, Cool Whip and powdered sugar in your mixer and whip for several minutes until smooth and creamy.
  • Put the filling in your prepared graham cracker crust.
  • Chop or grate your chocolate bar to create shavings and sprinkle over the top of your pie.
  • Chill for at least 1-2 hours before serving. Keep any leftovers chilled.
