Country Apple Dumplings

Take some very simple ingredients and put them together to create this delicious dish full of yummy goodness! These apple dumplings are so much easier than the traditional version, but still bring that taste of home we all crave!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples Granny Smit or Honeycrisp work well, but can use whatever you have.
  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 7.5 oz. can Mountain Dew

Instructions

  • Slice each apple into 8 pieces and core and peel.
  • Wrap each apple slice in one crescent roll, laying it in the larger side of the triangle, sealing edges.
  • Lay them all in a greased 9x13 pan.
  • Melt butter in saucepan & then stir in sugar and cinnamon.
  • Once this is mixed together, pour over the apple dumplings, trying to cover as much of the surface of each dumpling as possible.
  • Pour the Mountain Dew in the pan around the apple dumplings, trying not to pour over them so you do not wash the butter/sugar mixture off.
  • Bake at 350 for 34-40 minutes.
